this tutorial showed us how to link animations that were created in blender to the character that was created and how to add scripts to change the state of the animator to allow that transition. the GIF attached is an example of what is the finished product the animations were created in blender then imported to unity along with the character then using unity animator three different states were created and transitions between those scripts. After that a 'door' was created and a trigger was added to it to make it disappear when the play moved into the collider.
